Make Agency® partnered with Clearpay to deliver a high-impact creative and performance campaign designed to drive partnership participation and new user growth during Black Friday and the wider peak trading period. Clearpay needed to stand out during the most competitive retail window of the year. The goal was to increase usage of Clearpay-backed purchases across major retail partners, while strengthening brand recognition and driving new customer acquisition.

The challenge

Black Friday is loud. Clearpay had to show up alongside a wide range of retail brands including JD Sports, Pandora, Office, and others, without losing its own identity. Creative needed to work across multiple environments, feel native next to partner branding, and still be unmistakably Clearpay.

At the same time, performance targets were tight. Activity had to deliver awareness, acquisition, and ROI at speed, then flex beyond Black Friday into Christmas and January sales.

What we did

We started with insight. Using Make Sense, we analysed historical Clearpay campaign performance and engagement data, then layered this with competitor analysis across brands such as Klarna and PayPal Pay in 3. This allowed us to identify the creative and messaging sweet spots that drive both engagement and acquisition.

From there, we developed a bold, flexible campaign identity that could sit confidently alongside retail partners while maintaining Clearpay’s brand presence. Campaigns ran across paid social and digital channels, supported by a creator strategy spanning UGC, micro, and mid-tier influencers.

Creators used their own platforms and formats to drive authenticity, reach, and performance. Our agile production model allowed us to rapidly iterate creative, messaging, and offers as the campaign moved from Black Friday through Christmas and into January sales.

The results

The campaign delivered sustained momentum across three key retail moments, driving strong awareness, efficient acquisition, and clear commercial impact for Clearpay and its retail partners.
