Make Agency® partnered with Eventbrite to lead its market re-entry across Australia and New Zealand. After a period of reduced activity post-Covid, the brand needed to re-establish presence, rebuild reputation, and reconnect with audiences in two competitive markets. Eventbrite wanted to return to ANZ with intent. The goal was to strengthen brand perception, regain share of voice, and drive meaningful growth across users, event creators, and attendees. This required a clear understanding of how the brand was viewed locally and what would cut through.
The challenge
During Eventbrite’s quieter period, competitors had gained ground. Brand familiarity had softened and sentiment varied by city, event type, and audience. Eventbrite needed a strategy that was locally fluent, insight-led, and fast moving.
Before activating, we needed to understand the noise. What people were saying. Where energy lived. What audiences liked, disliked, and expected from an events platform in ANZ.
What we did
We began with a deep insight phase. Using Make Sense, we built custom data scrapes across social platforms and review sites to capture volume, sentiment, and language at scale. This was layered with competitor analysis to understand how others were positioning themselves and winning attention.
The data revealed where Eventbrite already had strength, which cities showed the highest momentum, and which event categories drove the most engagement. It also shaped how we spoke. Tone, words, and cultural nuance were tailored to each market.
We then delivered a multi-channel campaign spanning outdoor, paid media, organic social, and creator-led content. Activity was personalised by region and audience subset, allowing the brand to build relevance quickly and regain momentum.
The results
The campaign re-established Eventbrite’s presence across Australia and New Zealand, delivering strong engagement and rapid brand recall. We tracked clear uplift in new users, event listings, and event attendance, alongside sustained growth in social engagement and followers.
Performance data showed efficient media spend and positive ROAS, giving Eventbrite confidence in its renewed position and a clear foundation for continued growth in the region.
